at the winter soltice the Christ sacrifices himself and enters into the center of the earth to redeem a seed of LIGHT.

it is always a sacrifice to leave the light, which is the realm of living consciousness (where we feel familiar and safe).

-  but it's only by exploring the dark unknown the redemption is ever possible.
